uk cigarettes and prices

I’m a British citizen and I love smoking cigarettes. I grew up around cigarette smoking, it’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Despite knowing how dangerous cigarettes are, I still find myself smoking them frequently. I know that it’s not good for me, but I just cannot help myself.

In the UK, cigarettes are incredibly popular and widely available. You can buy cigarettes pretty much everywhere – from corner shops and supermarkets, to pubs and clubs. The UK has some of the most expensive cigarettes in the world – a single packet can cost up to £10, depending on the brand. This means that smoking has become an expensive habit.

Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped millions of British people from smoking. Around 14.7 million adults in Britain are smokers, with 17.2% of adults in England being cigarette smokers. It’s reported that the average smoker in the UK has a habit of 14.5 cigarettes a day, and 84.2% of those who smoke in the UK are daily smokers.

There are a lot of different types of cigarettes available in the UK too. You can buy filters, menthols, lights, and even electronic cigarettes. There’s a lot of choice when it comes to cigarettes, so everyone can find a type that suits them best.

The UK also has a lot of restrictions on cigarette smoking. It’s illegal to buy cigarettes if you’re under the age of 18, and it’s also illegal to smoke in most enclosed public places, such as pubs, restaurants, and workplaces. This means that smokers have to find alternative places to smoke, such as outside or in designated ‘smoking rooms’.

Despite the restrictions, I still enjoy smoking cigarettes. I won’t deny that it’s bad for my health, and I’m not encouraging anyone else to smoke; but it’s a part of my life that I’m not willing (or able) to give up just yet.
